I think those were totally Cobra only items. I am unsure if anybody is reproducing them. Your best bet would be to have one fabricated locally.

ANybody else know?? I would be interested in knowing a source for a 289 project later on.

I would like to buy an original style plain black 289 Header tank, very similar to the ribbed 427 style?

This is not the round alloy Harrison tank!

The McCord® manufactured tank assemblies for Cobras are unique to Cobras the best I have been able to determine.  There were generally similar tanks for some Ford and Studebaker applications. Top shell wise some of the other applications have their fill caps in other locations and or their over flow tubes pointing different directions. I collected several different tank assemblies from other car types trying to find replacement top and bottom shells but never came up with pressings exactly like the Cobra one. I had hoped I could use pieces from other tanks to come up with a good one for a Cobra. Failing to find anything exact to rob parts wise I hunted somebody capable of repairing my very crumpled and modified (It appears somebody cut a large hole so they could push big dents out from the inside and them covered the hole with a patch.) original tank for CSX2551. When I was all done chasing I ended up with the original tank for the car which was more desireable anyway.
